Goals and Objectives of SIF
- Provide community-based sustainable solutions to the social and economic problems of the poor
- Improve the mechanism for targeting the allocation of resources to the poorest rural and urban communities
- Enhance the SIF investments in human capital and social services
- Enhance the direct short-term impact of SIF projects
- Enhance the sustainability of SIF projects
- Provide leadership in the national response to poverty
- Achieve higher levels of operational efficiency and effectiveness
- To provide resources to communities for community-based projects which address their social and economic needs
- To develop and deliver basic services and infrastructure to the poor and needy through NGO/community organizations and other local agencies
- To finance small-scale projects such as basic infrastructure, health, education, water and sanitation, social services and income generating activities
