Goals and Objectives of SIF

Provide community-based sustainable solutions to the social and economic problems of the poor
Improve the mechanism for targeting the allocation of resources to the poorest rural and urban communities
Enhance the SIF investments in human capital and social services
Enhance the direct short-term impact of SIF projects
Enhance the sustainability of SIF projects
Provide leadership in the national response to poverty
Achieve higher levels of operational efficiency and effectiveness
To provide resources to communities for community-based projects which address their social and economic needs
To develop and deliver basic services and infrastructure to the poor and needy through NGO/community organizations and other local agencies
To finance small-scale projects such as basic infrastructure, health, education, water and sanitation, social services and income generating activities
